Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

(NOTE: I bought mine in early 2014, got injured, so just commenting now). I used this to replace a rigid fork on an early 1990s steel MTB that I use for commuting and work-out riding. Yeah, its heavy, but its been bombproof on potholed & cracked streets, and it 'lifted' my front end (which I wanted to do). So far no complaints after 6 months of street riding, and it fit my need perfectly.

Works great in place of a 100mm suspension fork you don't want to destroy this winter. Solid construction, accomodates huge tires and mud clearance.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

Very nice fork. I would have given it 5 stars if they had of welded on a small bracket on the upper leg of the fork to zip tie the brake hose to. Other then that it is a great fork, and handles well.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

I recently had to replace a busted air suspension shock, and simply being fed up with poor quality shocks, I decided to go rigid. I am so glad I did. My first time riding uphill I was amazed at the gained efficiency with a rigid fork. This fork installed so easy, and fortunately for me matched my paint scheme in flat black. There is just enough of room for a 29" wheel, and I do think it rides and looks best with a 29.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

The fork arrive undamaged in a snug, bubble-wrapped box; good. The power coat black looks great with my Fuji Adventure 1.0 frame. As other reviewers have noted that although this is not the lightest chromo fork around (weights almost as much as my SR XCM V3 fork), this rigid fork gets the job done. 4 starts for starters as I have not completed my bike build to test out the ride quality. It has been many years since I've gone back to a rigid fork so I'll wait and see if I like the ride.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

This fork rocks! I got it to replace the marginal suspension fork on my wife's 2006 Jamis Exile SS.
The gunmetal grey/black powdercoat happens to match the paint on her Exile frame perfectly...it looks like they were made for each other!
Good welds, sturdy, well made. You can use linear pull brakes or disc brakes. Here's the best part...you've got SO much clearance with regular 26" tires, that you could throw a 29'er wheel up front, and make your ride a 96'er, if you like! Another way of saying this is, if you have a 29'er, and use disc brakes, this fork should work, even though it's not specified as a 29'er fork. Its rake is a bit longer than the the suspension fork it replaced, thus giving her bike a bit longer wheelbase. Fine by her. So ditch that boingy, fugly thing up front, and make your MTB the way God intended....RIGID!

Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

This is an excellent fork to replace old, worn out suspension forks, especially if you're trying to convert an old MTB to more of a hybrid rider for road use. The fender eyelets and disc brake tabs make it very versatile. I did put it on the scale and it came in at 1,470 grams, compared to my old suspension fork which was 1,520 grams. Only 50 grams lighter, but every little bit counts I guess.

I used this fork to replace the el cheapo Suntour M2025 supension forks on the Trek 820 MTB I am converting to a cargo bike. I am doing so by adding an Xtrzcycle Free Radical. Both Xtracycle and the Cargo bike FB page both recommended using this Nashbar fork. Contrary to what Nashbar says this fork is angled out further than the originals thus increasing my wheelbase which is ok for me.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

Great addition to my single speed. I'd been looking for a suspension-adjusted rigid fork that wouldn't break the bank...couldn't be happier. Very nice welds, good looking, reasonably light... certainly lighter than any suspension fork. Axle to crown measurment is 460 mm by the way(since Nashbar did not provide that in the description) so it's ideal for 80 - 100 mm forks without changing the geometry.

Comments about Nashbar Rigid Mountain Bike Fork:

This fork is the next best thing to a carbon fork. Cromoly/steel absorbs road vibration and smooths out a ride. For everyone who does not already know, steel is not much heavier than aluminum, and much more forgiving.
