Far Superior To Push-In Plugs

  • Never Fall Out

Comments about Nashbar Road Handlebar Plugs:

These inexpensive plugs expand into the handlebar so that they will never fall out. Traditional push-in plugs are just not reliable for staying put in the handlebar. If you wrap the bar with a lot of over hang at the bar end,
you may get a push-in to stay as you will need a soft hammer to get them in. Still, you don't need any over hang at the bar end for the Nashbar plug to stay in as it expands as needed for any handlebar ID. You will never have a plug fall out again.

Comments about Nashbar Road Handlebar Plugs:

These are billed as road bar plugs but I am using them on my carbon mountain bar with no issues. I had put new grips on that came with the usual type of plugs and promptly fell and tore one up. It bugged me but I couldn't seem to find a replacement until I came upon these plugs. They fit right into the bar and snugged up nicely, I am pleased with the way they look and install.

These plugs work perfectly. Much better than the cheap plastic stuff that comes with the tape. These are easy to use and bulletproof

Comments about Nashbar Road Handlebar Plugs:

They are small diameter and short in length.
This makes it challenging to fit them to road handlebars. It can be done by tightening the screw before inserting them into the handlebar, until they require gentle pressure to insert them, then completing the tightening.

          Works as Advertised

          About Me Avid Cyclist

Comments about Nashbar Road Handlebar Plugs:

I bought a bike off Craigslist and bought bullhorn handlebars for it that were too small for regular plugs. After trying to plug with cork to no avail, I bought these thinkings "they're cheap enough even if they don't work." I had to carve the rubber pieces down, but they work like a charm. I imagine on full sized bars they'd work just as good. Tightened as advertised, despite what others have said.

Comments about Nashbar Road Handlebar Plugs:

Decent handlebar plugs. "Fastener plugs" don't vibrate loose like friction type plugs. If nut rotates while tightening, I use a little piece of duct tape across nut and it works fine.

            Does not work

            By JT

            from NYC

            About Me Competitive Cyclist

Comments about Nashbar Road Handlebar Plugs:

            These simply don't work. Useless.

No matter how much I tighten the screw to pull the plate at the back in, the plug doesn't expand - it just spins in the bar.

I had a pair like this a long time ago that worked find - not sure where I got them. These don't work.
