Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

Normally when you need a training tire that you are going to put many miles of abuse and wear you don't want to spend much, that made me experiment with different tire brands until I came across the Nashbar Prima 2 which I found to be best suitable tires in my case after I have been using these tires for the past 5 years on my training bicycle. So I have experienced the use of these for a long time now: I only recall of a flat going over broken glass when the tire was pretty worn out, being that the case I put them on my racing bike for the past 6 months, yes they are heavy for racing but there's nothing like the peace of mind when it comes to getting flats, I race them at 125 lbs of air pressure in back and 120 lbs front which is much higher of the recommended tire pressure to reduce rolling resistance and by doing so I haven't felt much of a difference at the races from the "brand tires".
I get around 1500+/- miles on them considering that I am not your common cyclist: sprinter, tall and heavy: 225 lbs. I have felt bad sometimes in the past to see some of the guys that have been training hard for a race doing great at a race and getting a flat pretty close to the end of the race. If you are not that picky about weight and want a reliable easy to mount tire these are for you.
I gave these a "4 stars" because of the weight, but if you keep the recommended air pressure constantly and you weight less than me, you should be able to get many more miles out of the tires like some of my friends do.
I highly recommend these if you are on a budget and don't want flats and ease to mount tires.

I ride in a cycling club every Saturday building up to 100 miles. I've used these for many years and they last a long time. I average one flat per set of tires where my fellow cyclist riding on light weight gator skin tires get flats all the time. A Great price for a durable tire...TY Nashbar

Nice tire, get about 2500 to 3000 miles on the tire. Have been using the Prima 2 plus tires for several years and have been happy with their durability. Decent tire for the price.

I've got about 300 miles on a pair of these now. They seem to be wearing well enough. A little slippery in the corners when the roads are wet, but what tire isn't. Good tire for the price.

Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

I originally purchased a set of these a few years ago in the 27 1/4" size, and was rewarded with 6500 miles of service, with a rotation at 3000 miles. No flats either! Soooo, it only made sense to try a pair in the 700 x 25 size on my new ride. Right now I`m at 4000 miles, just did a rotation at 3500, and tires are still in fabulous condition. If you`re not getting similar results, you`re doing something wrong. Pressure..... 100 in the front, 105 in the rear. Pumped up EVERY morning before I ride. If you let ANY tire get soft, it will wear quickly. I`m 5' 11", 155-165 lbs depending on the season, not exactly a lightweight by cyclist standards. And did I mention these things are light? Unless you`re a brand name snob, there is no reson to spend more. Price, performance, and durability, you can`t go wrong!

Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

I've been using the Prima 2 Plus for about ten years, the 27x1 1/4 on a 1985 Raleigh and the 700x25 on a 2009 Salsa. My rides with these have been on paved trails, city streets, country lanes, and busy highways ranging from a few miles to multiple century rides. In general I average about 3000 miles between tire changes on the rear and and upwards of 5000 on the front (just changing a front today at just over 8700 miles). My rides with these have been on paved trails, city streets, country lanes, and busy highways. I rarely get a flat on the front and only occasionally on the rear, and usually only once the tire has over 2000 miles on it. I agree with the other comments that point to the tendency of the "treads" to pick up minute debris that can eventually cause a flat. I generally run the 27x1 1/4 at 90 psi and the 700x25 at 95 psi.

Comments about Nashbar Prima 2 Plus Road Tire:

Decent inexpensive tire for training. Put on two different brand rims without needing a tire "iron". Much better durability than low-end Hutchinson or Conti. I am a sucker for sales, and will purchase low-end tires when I should probably just spring for Gatorskins. I consider myself a connoisseur of lower-end tires and these are my new favorites. Tires in this space tend to vary greatly between batches, but I will be buying more of these. You will not confuse them with pre-Thailand Vittorias, but they are a great tire for the price. Have north of 1k on current pair, only one puncture and still serviceable.
