Comments about Nashbar Self Sealing Road Tubes:

Tubes are garbage. They while I am sitting in the living room. I have 60 psi in them, and they keep bursting in the same spot, on a seam afew inches from the valve, regardless of a front or rear installation. I am happy they do not burst while riding. It is very annoying.

    • Tube Too Big For Tire

    Best Uses

Comments about Nashbar Self Sealing Road Tubes:

This tube was purchased to go with a Michelin 700X35 tire. I called Nashbar to verify the correct Nashbar self-sealing road tube to purchase based on the tire size. They advised large. During the installation process and now during use, it seems that this tube is too large for the tire size. I have a "bubble" on the rear tire near the valve stem. This bubble is visible. I am hoping this does not cause a problem. Also, every air refill, a little of the self sealing liquid escapes from the valve.

at 62 years old, I'm somewhere between casual and avid cyclist; somewhere between comfort and speed oriented. I ride for excercise but also do some century rides in the foothills on my 25 year-old Nashbar Tour E. I ride one mile on dirt/gravel from my home to the pavement. In riding hundreds of miles these self-sealing tubes have never let me down

Comments about Nashbar Self Sealing Road Tubes:

I bought these tubes (and brand new tires) to put in an old loaded tourer that I use for riding to the store and 6-10 mile rides on jogging paths near the canals in the neighborhood. Had a flat in the first 4 miles, tubes didn't begin to self seal.

I was disappointed, to say the least.

Comments about Nashbar Self Sealing Road Tubes:

Put these in my commuter after a flat last fall.

About a week ago, I picked up a finish nail in the sidewall of the rear tire. Sealant oozed out of the tire, but never really cured around the hole. After a week of pumping and trying to lay the bike on its side to get more sealant out of the hole, I went ahead and replaced the tube with a traditional one.

I'm two-starring it out of comparison to several tubeless systems I've seen for use with traditional tires that claim to be able to screw wood screws into the tire - a single finish nail shouldn't have been an issue.

My fallback will probably be a standard tube with a squirt of Stan's or Slime instead of the pre-slimed tubes. But i'm going to run the non-slimed tube until it gets punctured.

Comments about Nashbar Self Sealing Road Tubes:

I train in the foothills on roads with gravel on the shoulders and subsequently get flats due to stone bruising.
Our roads are dirtier because of the long winters and the need for gravel on the asphalt.
These tubes will give me fewer flats and more riding time.

Comments about Nashbar Self Sealing Road Tubes:

I have over 100Kmiles/160Kkm experience, both commuting/touring, and use only tubes with only Slime/Nashbar Self-sealing. I pedal most everyday and solo tour when possible. Recently (19-22NOV2011), I pedaled a circular 283 miles/453kms from El PasoTX to Old MesillaNM to DemingNM through ColumbusNM to mm107.5 back to El Paso. My first day out,19NOV2011, I was pedaling NM404 West when my rear tire finally wore out after 2000+miles/3200kms and the tube blew at mm2.5. I replaced both, with particular emphasis on inserting my favorite tube, the Nashbar self-seal. I recorded this specific act in pix and have put them on my Facebook page under Irene's Pedal; please friend me to view them!
