Comments about Santini SP70 GIT CX Gel Shorts:

I cycle 50-55 miles/day six days a week. These are the best shorts I have ever owned. I have stopped using all of my other shorts including the Pearl Izumis. The fabric is lighter than other shorts, and the waist stays put without being at all tight thanks to the underwear-type elastic. The chamois comprises four layers including gel, yet it seams quite thin. Perhaps best of all, things inside the shorts stay put better than any shorts I have ever owned. They are true to size; i.e., I wear mediums in all other shorts and these fit great.
Nashbar's price is great for a short of this quality. If the price drops any more I will buy more of these shorts.

These fit very well with no apparent seams. Chamois is very comfortable and not too bulkey.

Comments about Santini SP70 GIT CX Gel Shorts:

I recently ordered my 3rd pair of Santini SP70's. I have a few other brands over the years and these by far are the best shorts. I have some shorts with foam and they just don't compare to the gel Santini's. I can be in the saddle for 65 miles with no problem. I do believe that each person is different and its the combo between shorts and saddle that make the most in comfort. The first pair I bought is 2 years old and other than the small decal on the front leg I have had no quality issues. For the price you I'm not sure there is a more comfortable or better made pair out there. I'm 5'10, 170 lbs and the medium fits spot on.

Comments about Santini SP70 GIT CX Gel Shorts:

The item pictured as of 05/05/15 isn't what they ship you! The shorts carry the same item number from Santini, so Nashbar does ship the correct item. The issue is that the Santini logo is completely different, and it is only on the left thigh. It has the logo that is similar to some of the jerseys that say sMs. Everything else appears to be the same (pretty simple pair of shorts obviously). I've brought this up with Nashbar, mostly because they are selling something different than what's pictured. My main concern is that more than the visible may have changed, such as the padding material. I've never owned Santini before, so I can't comment on the quality. It seems nice enough though. I'm not pleased with the experience overall, never had any problems like this with Nashbar before.

Comments about Santini SP70 GIT CX Gel Shorts:

At 5'11" and 160 and usually wearing a 31" waist I found the Medium to fit very well with snug legs and not much excess material in the lower back. With typical rides in the 50 mile range I found them to be an excellent product. This product is obviously designed for competitive cycling and a competitive cyclist's build and might not be ideal for someone looking for a casual application.

Comments about Santini SP70 GIT CX Gel Shorts:

I have been wearing these shorts a year or so, and just bought another pair. They are a little firm fitting, but not at all uncomfortable. The padding is as good as I have ever found (comfort in that area is always somewhat illusive). Very happy with these shorts - they are the only ones I wear now.

Comments about Santini SP70 GIT CX Gel Shorts:

Looked for high end shorts and came across these hoping for a bargain. First thing I noticed was the pad, which is undersized and not very thick. It's also not sectioned, meaning it doesn't conform like better pads will.

Trying them on it became immediately clear they wouldn't be very comfortable. Stiff and tight without enough panels to fit comfortably.

Good shorts should be comfortable and protective. Although I didn't ride with them, they're sufficiently uncomfortable that I've lost interest.

                        Returning.

Finally a pr that fit, however you need to consider your buyer of these. 3XXXL are mainly heavy riders, we weight over 240 ish, you need to double up the gel padding and make it thicker. I can do about 20 miles every day but any more than that and the cushioning of the gel lessens. Doubling it up would be worth the cost for the comfort
