Pros

    Cons

    • Heavy
    • Wears Out Quickly

    Best Uses

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

Good thick gel padding on palm and really thick on lower palm, but no padding on base of thumb, so if you ride the hoods a lot, this isn't ideal. The nose-wipe part of the glove is really soft, large and well placed. The top (non-palm) side of the glove holds up really well but is a little hot in the summer. The palm side is stretched out, shredding and pilling. It looks awful. I'm embarrassed to wear it anymore, even though the the seams and other fabric are all in good shape.

      So so gloves

      Pros

      • Inexpensive
      • No Velcro

      Cons

      • Too Smooth "terry" Thumb

      Best Uses

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

Since Nashbar discontinued their Prime gloves, I tried these. The thumb and forefinger material is too smooth for nose wiping. The pads are a tad too thick, and oddly positioned, but not a big issue for me. Fit was good, and the lack of velcro makes washing them with other clothes safe, but a little more difficult to pull on and off.

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

I wear a size large normally. These are a bit short
barely reaching to the wrist and are snug making getting them on or off a slow process.

I bought the large size, and it is still tighter than I would prefer. I wish they had an extra large size. I am 6'1", normal frame male.

            Get one size larger

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

Because there is no Velcro closure these gloves are difficult to get on and off. I'd recommend getting one size larger than normal which I expect would alleviate the problem. Otherwise, seems to be a well made glove and a good value.

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

Fairly comfortable, but frankly, they are much harder to wiggle in and out off without a Velcro closure than I expected. They tend to end up inside out most of the time, and it simply takes longer than it should to put them on or remove them.

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

These gloves are difficult to put on and take off because they lack a Velcro closure. That said once on they are comfortable and provide adequate cushioning.

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

The glove fit me well and have been comfortable in the first couple rides. The elastic cuff without velcro closure makes the gloves a bit slow to take on and off.

Comments about Nashbar Gel Max Gloves:

I have bought several pairs of these as sweat and use ages all gloves at any price level. I also hate losing gloves, especially costly ones. So rather than replacing an expensive set of gloves every year or sooner if I lose them, I can easily get 6 months to a year out of these for 1/3 of the name brand gloves and the get the job done without kicking yourself if you drive off with them on top of your car after a kicking ride.
