      Not great shorts

Comments about Nashbar Woodsville Baggy Shorts:

The grippers on the legs are way too tight. It felt like it might cut off circulation. Unless you have thin thighs, look somewhere else for shorts. The pockets were quite deep which is OK to me. I didn't like the Velcro closure on the pockets. It made it hard to get anything out and there's no need for Velcro with pockets so deep.

Comments about Nashbar Woodsville Baggy Shorts:

The shorts themselves are pretty darn good. The chamois is certainly sufficient, the grippers on the inner shorts do a good job keeping them from slipping up my legs when I ride. However, the pockets are way too deep (at least for me). If I put my phone or wallet in them, it ends up being caught in the back of my knee on pedal upstrokes. This is rather annoying, and has led me to not use the pockets. Also, would have been nice if the inner shorts were detachable for use with other shorts.

Overall, pretty good for the price.

Comments about Nashbar Woodsville Baggy Shorts:

Wear these for my daily ride of 10 - 15 miles on a mountain bike on streets and bike paths. They are a bit too long for me, and the main pockets are at the bottom of the leg - close to my knees. When I put my wallet in one it bounces & bangs around around as I peddle. Really needs a rear hip pocket to hold a wallet, but it has none there.
Otherwise - well made, fit well and heavily padded.

Comments about Nashbar Woodsville Baggy Shorts:

These shorts haven't even lasted me one year. Within the first month the spandex on the inside had a big tear in it. The next month the same tear on the other side.

Eventually the back side started getting tears. Since I had a big tear on the back and the spandex was torn inside, I'm pretty sure people could see my butt.

I ride 26 miles per day for commuting. So, I'm not terribly hard on them.

I purchased these for someone who usually spends about $100 on a pair of this type of short. He rides usually 30 miles a few times a week and he is very pleased with these. He said he would definitely get another pair.

I wear zoic and cannodale shorts but thought I would try these. Built from solid materials and well sewn. the pockets are put on in a novel and practical way albeit some what unusual. The cotch pad was a disappointment. Not cushed enough not form enough. You know it when you have been riding in these for an hour.

Comments about Nashbar Woodsville Baggy Shorts:

I ride long distance road bike (25 miles is a short ride), and decided to add bicycle commuting to work for more bike time, thought these would be good for the short commute, and preferable to spandex-only when sharing the elevator at the office. They are great as far as drying during the day at the office (I ride in south florida, where 70° F is cold, and dripping humidity is the norm), but the fit is just weird: they are too baggy from the middle up, but too tight in the leg (they outer layer catches on my thigh as I pedal); also, while the leg is potentially too long (ok if it was just the inner spandex, but as I said, the outer layer keeps impeding my thigh motion), yet the top does not come up high enough on the hips, so that when in the saddle, the backside begins to show - and I can't possibly pull the crotch up any tighter.

Adequate padding in the seat. Elastic in the inner short was too tight and restrictive. The shorts felt like they were constantly sliding off of my rear end. The fit was true to size but uncomfortable for my body. The waist should have been longer?. Drawstrings were too short and is difficult to tie.
