Comments about Nashbar Stealth Toe Covers:

Appears to be shaped for a large man's large shoe, not a slim cyclist, much less a female cyclist clip in shoe. The small was way too wide and too large; can not use these.

They work well down to about 20 degrees F. Below that my toes still get cold. If you leave them on your shoes while walking, they will wear out quickly.

    About what you'd expect

Comments about Nashbar Stealth Toe Covers:

I got the XL size and I use a fairly low profile, size 47 shoe. The toe covers are adequate, albeit a little tight. I don't think that they would work well with larger sized shoes or with mtn bike shoes that have large tread blocks on the soles. The underside of the cover is a vinyl-like material that will probably be sufficiently durable for minimal walking around. In terms of insulation, they do provide a windbreak, which I think is the most important first step, but they don't really provide a lot of insulation to keep cold temps out. I always get cold feet when cycling, and these are probably only good for down to 35 F for me.

Comments about Nashbar Stealth Toe Covers:

I have used these toe covers for commuting and longer weekend rides in temperatures ranging from 30 to 60 degrees. They work great! They cover the vents on my cycling shoes and add some insulation. With a warm pair of socks and the toe covers my feet have stayed warm but never too warm. They stay in place on the shoes and are hassle free. They are a good value.

But, in my opinion, they are a little frumpy. And I think it would be good to have some reflective piping or patches on them, especially around the heel.

Comments about Nashbar Stealth Toe Covers:

I bought these to help me ride a little deeper into the fall season than I otherwise would be comfortable doing. I'm not unsatisfied with them, but I did hope that they would keep my toes a little more toasty than they do. Perhaps it's just how they fit on my particular shoe? I find them to still be too drafty. I use them anyway. They do help. My next step will be to try some nice thermal socks. Without them, I'm okay for an hour or an hour and a half at 35 degrees before I begin to wonder if I'll still have toes in the morning. At 50 degrees, I'm doing just fine with these covers, almost indefinitely. Perhaps my expectation was just higher than what could be reasonable expected from any toe cover.

The bottom strapped ripped after only a few uses. Should be made more durable. Might work for you if you don't walk in your bike shoes.

The bottom strap ripped the first time being used. They still manage to stay over my toes so I continue to use them. They do make the difference between cold/wet feet and not. My plan is to have a piece of velcro or a hook and loop sewn onto them to be able to keep them more secure.

Comments about Nashbar Stealth Toe Covers:

These are a disappointment to me, was hoping they'd be a cheap replacement for my aging Louis Garneau T-Covers (used over size 46 MTB shoes) which are becoming hard to find and expensive.

Unfortunately, due to the overall design and rigid vinyl-like material of the bottom, the cleat hole does not line up with the SPD cleat on any of my MTB shoes. This is made worse by the inflexibility of the neoprene upper part of the cover as well. The L/XLs BARELY fit over my size 46 Sidi Genius 5 road shoes/Look KEO cleat!

Comments about Nashbar Stealth Toe Covers:

These are fairly well constructed. There is one place on the toe covers that worry me that is the sewing between the toe cover and rhe back strap, otherwise they are nice. They cover the front of the toe to the cleat. You may have to cut a little of the material around the cleat but the good thing about neoprene is it wont unravel. If your worried take a lighter and burn the edge that you cut out. They are great for keeping the wind off your toes. All around I give them a 90 I think they will hold up pretty well.
