RETURNED: Nashbar Mansfield 2 Chamois Tights
Stay cozy this chilly season. The Nashbar Mansfield 2 Chamois Tights provide extra insulation to keep you warm for those days in the saddle that are downright frigid. The soft, brushed interior fabric is optimized for warmth and since nothing puts a damper on cold weather riding like clammy skin it also wicks moisture away like a champ to keep you dry and comfortable. The multi-density Coolmax chamois, too, is superb at wicking moisture away from your skin all the while providing plush comfort for as many miles as the legs and lungs allow. Ample, 10" locking zippers means it's a jiffy to take these tights on and off while reflective accents ensure motorists can see you when you're putting in the early morning or early evening miles.
  • Soft, brushed fabric provides a comfortable, insulating layer that traps heat to keep you warm
  • Multi-density chamois with wicking Coolmax top sheet for ultimate riding comfort
  • Drawstring waist secures tights in place
  • 10" locking ankle zippers make for easy on/off
  • Reflective accents increase visibility in low-light conditions
  • Tall size option adds 2" to leg length

Value outweighs quality

Pros

  • 30 Mile Rides Or Less
  • Form Fitting
  • Value
  • Warm

Cons

  • Greater Than 30 Miles
  • Quality Padding

Best Uses

  • Short Cool Training Ride

I could not resist buying another pair at the best price available. I am 6'1 180 lbs and the (m tall)fits me perfect. As most people have stated the padding is insufficient and anatomically incorrect. My first ride with them was a 60 mile ride in 40 degree weather and I was warm and comfortable until about the 40 mile mark when the padding began to give out. I would not recommend to a friend but it served its purpose for me here in Florida. With mild winters and really just looking for tights that took that early morning chill away I could not resist buying another pair for under $30 dollars.

I use my tights when weather turns colder as they are. When it gets to 30ish I put on polyester liner leggings and top for extra protection against cold weather.

Don't know why so many people are bashing this pair of pants. It does the trick to lee me warm during rides and with the comfortable gel padding. I have worn it several times on 35-45 degree rides and have been warm and pleased with them. They are a little tight but it helps keep warmth in. This is my first pair of thermal long pants and I love em.

The Mansfield tights have received some undeserved negative reviews. They have been criticized for the chamois and the zipper quality. The issues have been addressed or did not manifest themselves in my garment. This is the second pair I have purchased, and only as a backup.

      Returning, just plain uncomfortable

Just plain uncomfortable. I kept them too long to give them a chance, but then I realized I was choosing NOT to use these and just wear shorts with leg warmers instead. The pad is simply uncomfortable. I do 40-50 mile rides at least once a week, and within 15 miles my bottom was already sore and uncomfortable using these.

The chamois pad positioning was considerably misaligned thus rendering a defective and unusable product. The chamois pad did not cover contact points with the bike seat. I returned this poorly constructed item and regretted having to pay return shipping for a defective product. I would have given the product zero stars if could have, but had to settle for one star.
