Comments about Michelin Pro4 Road Tire:

I've ridden these tires and their predecessors for many years. I tried many other highly rated tires from competitors but these have been the most durable while still being light enough and comfortable.

Put a few hundred miles on them so far, in 25c, and can't tell a whole lot of difference between them and my old gp4000iis. The tire profile is better in my opinion, has a nice angle that let's me roll deeper on the side faster.

Something changed and not for the better

Comments about Michelin Pro4 Road Tire:

I have had several of these tires over the years and always like them and never had an issue. However, something in the design has changed and the new set I got are just a bear to install. I've had nothing but problems and have had to use brute force and tire levers to get them to mount on the rim. Using tire levers under such close tolerance have resulted in the dreaded pinch flats and several inner tubes. I am considering tossing them out and switching to a new brand.

Lightweight and good craftsmanship but also more susceptible to flats than others such as Gatorskins. It only took a few weeks of riding before I got a serious puncture flat.

I bought 4 of these tires for my 2 road bikes. On two occasions, after riding on stretches of rough though paved roads, the tires blew out through the side walls.

One of the few tires I am always on the lookout for: if they are on sale, I buy a supply.
I like the 25mm for my size, front and back (200lb). I run the front at 95 psi and rear at 115. Great ride, great roll.

Comments about Michelin Pro4 Road Tire:

I pinch flated two tubes believing I'd have to muscle these on with levers. Then when working the last side of the tire onto the rim I first drew the air out of the normally seated inflated tube and was able to mount by hand. Not sure why I never thought or heard of this before but seems you have to give a tight tire room to give in the rim during mounting.
