    Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I have only put about 100 miles on them but so far they are great. Both sides have been for good for me. I clip in when I ride long distances or commute but use the flat side when I am pulling my son in a trailer (we get out a lot at playgrounds, etc). They are easy in and out and very comfortable when using casual shoes.

    Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I try to bike to work 3 or 4 days/week & I like to use shoes that have a recessed cleat so I don't slip & slide all over the post office floor when I'm dropping off our daily shipments. I use that same bike for short trips around town and biking with my kids. These work right in both cases. Easy to clip in & out of, but the platform side is also big enough that you don't feel like you're hunting for the pedal if they aren't turned over properly to clip in. Makes taking off from a busy intersection a lot less stressful. I've been using them for about a month now and I'm pleased so far. Bearings seem to spin freely & aren't noisy. Studs on the platform side could be a little sharper so your shoes get a better bite. Not the lightest pedal around, but this isn't my TT bike so I don't really care!

Just bought my third pair of these pedals, yes I have too many bikes. The pedals work well for most rides I go on. They aren't quite the perfect road pedal but more than good enough. The flat side works well for getting started before clipping in as well as just jumping on the bike for a short ride in street shoes.

        Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I bought these to use on my hybrid about-town bike. If I want to ride to the store or to the bank, I don't want to take my road bike, so I use my hybrid. Often I will take the hybrid out for an hour or two of riding, but the straps were not working for me. So with these pedals I can either use my sneakers OR my clip in shoes. They work as well as my Shimano SPD pedals on my road bike, which cost MUCH more. This was a great find.

          Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I bought a set for my road bike, so i could use either street shoes or my SPD clipped shoes. I liked them well enough to buy a second set for my fitness bike. Inexpensive, and great for trails where there are a lot of road crossings. You can choose to be clipped-in or not, just use the other side of the pedal. One drawback is they don't have a 15mm wrench fitting like most pedals, only the allen wrench fitting. If you ever get a pedal seized on the bike (i have though with different pedals) you won't be able to apply enough force with just an allen wrench. So just add some grease to the threads when installing.

          Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I have a pair of click'r pedals on another bike. Since they have catches on both sides, it feels weird to ride without cycling shoes. I put these on my MB and really like it that I can ride comfortably without cycling shoes as well as with.

My first SPD cleats, I used to use the old style cleat and clips from the 1960'a through 1980's.
I am having trouble getting shoes cleated in, but I guess that will pass, just as it did for the old style, or shall I say ancient style!!!

I do like that I found these as I can go for a casual commute downtown to my office at will without putting on cleated shoes. This is a similar reason to why I stuck with the rat trap pedals and toe clips as it didn't matter much what shoes I used.

              Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

The platform side comes in handy for the occasional street shoe ride or when being clipped in feels sketchy. For a newbie to clipless pedals, these pedals take away the "performance pressure" of taking off at a busy intersection. This is especially true if you find yourself having to restart mid-way up a steep hill.

The SPD mechanics work perfectly. They come set at the lowest adjustment for tightness, which is still plenty secure for riding while allowing for easy (and fast) disconnect.
