      Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I purchased these to replace the returned Shimano mountain bike pedals I had originally purchased last Fall as my first set of clip-ins(ride = 1996 Trek 750 Multi-Track). Nothing wrong with the Shimanos, I just didn't want to have to wear my bike shoes to pedal 2 miles to work. So far on two rides, one clipped in, one not, I'm pretty satisfied with the Sohos. Clipping in is sure and secure, and your shoe comes right out when you need it to. With the platform side, speed is not the goal, but you can hop on your bike with whatever shoe/sneaker you're wearing. At 20% off on sale, you can't beat them!

      Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

Non cleated side is slippery since it is plastic. Foot feels unstable unless you have really grippy soles on shoe.

          Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

So far, so good (after a week or two). When I don't want to be wearing bike shoes when I get somewhere, these are great. I commute in bike shoes, but to go to a concert or shopping it's nice to have regular shoes on. I'm hesitant to give anything 5 stars, especially after only a couple of weeks, but I can't think of a reason not to do it. I had some plastic inserts for SPD pedals once (to make them platform pedals) - these are far superior to those.

            Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

These pedals are great for my purposes of commuting (clicked in) and occasionally riding around the neighborhood with the kids in a trailer (platform side). The tension adjustment works well. My only complaint is that they don't seem quite balanced correctly so I sometimes spin the left pedal when trying to click in due to it's position.

I have been riding mtn and road bikes for years. I purchased two sets of pedals after getting a similar Shimano set for both my boys. They arrived quickly and was pleasantly surprised that they were smaller, lighter, and much better looking than the Shimano pedals. I enjoy the versatility of just jumping on either of my bikes and riding.

                Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

I got these pedals because I had to have surgery on my right foot. I needed something that I could use while wearing a protective boot. These pedals allowed me to use the flat side for my one foot and the regular spd setup for the other. Plus it is allowing me transition back to using a cleat on my surgery foot.

                  Comments about Nashbar Soho Pedals:

These Nashbar pedals are a great value, and easy upgrade from the stock pedals on my vintage 1989 Giant Iguana. I am just getting back into riding after pretty much a 25 year hiatus, and being able to use these in platform mode for the first few rides was a great advantage. I also bought the Giro Timbre mountain shoes, and the cleats and pedals work great together. There's just enough float to prevent knee pain, while feeling well connected to the bike. The release tension is easy to set, and it is a very natural twist to remove the shoe from a pedal. When riding as a platform pedal, it is easy to get the flat side up, and even if you don't at first, the clip-in side is flat enough to pedal on for a few strokes, until you can try again.
