Comments about Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Shorts:

I have the medium Elite shorts, but too big. Lost some lbs. so I bought the small. I also have the attack shorts in small, but the Elite small was too tight for me. I'll just stay with the attack shorts. I'm 4'11" so they do run long in the thigh, but overall satisfied with pearl Izumi product.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Shorts:

As a touring cyclist I find these bike shorts to be the very best. I own several pair and use them on all rides and in all weather. IN-R-COOL is spot on...I've never experienced any chaffing or discomfort nor muscle fatigue. PI has a quality product.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Shorts:

I got these shorts because I wanted something to make my long rides a little more comfortable. After a couple 40+ mile rides these were a little more comfortable than my PI Attacks but not for the price difference. Then after my fourth time using these I noticed that the chamois stitching is starting to come undone. For the price I expected them to be more comfortable and durable than they were. I am returning them to Nashbar for a replacement and I'll post a follow-up when I receive them and get some miles on them.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Shorts:

Not familiar with voler shorts, but otherwise PI shorts have always had the best fit of any I have ever ridden (which is quite a few). Compared to every other brand I have worn in size large, they fit tight. That is how you want your bike shorts to fit. The compression on your legs from the spandex will help you ride longer miles at a higher pace. If you are unfamiliar with PI and are used to wearing a different brand, they will probably feel too small when you first cram into them. They aren't. I am not a dedicated bike rider - I lift weights with heavy squats, so my thighs are quite bulky compared to the average rider. Point is, the PI's are not unduly small through the thighs relative to your proper waist size. Put in a few hours on you bike and you will love what the tight fit does for your legs.

    Good, but not great shorts

Comments about Pearl Izumi Elite In-R-Cool Shorts:

These shorts are sized strangely. I've ALWAYS worn medium shorts, but Mediums were way too small. And the Large that I replaced them with still seems tight through the thighs compared to the waist. Definitely not sold on Pearl Izumi, after happily riding Voler for many years.
