Nashbar L'Orange V.2 Floor Pump
Every cyclist needs a top quality floor pump and in that realm you'll be incredibly well-served with the Nashbar L'Orange V.2 Floor Pump. Not only does it's stunningly orange hue stand out from the crowd, performance-wise it's a marvel of efficiency and sheer pumping power. With plenty of pumps at our disposal here at Nashbar, the L'Orange V.2 is the go-to inflator of choice for quick, effortless inflation - all in an incredibly well-constructed, built to last package.

But don't take our word for it, check out why this Nashbar floor pumped was awarded Bicycling Magazine's G.O.T.D. award in April 2013:

"The new V.2 improves on the features we loved in the original L'Orange, a pump we praised for its ability to move large volumes of air. The 28-inch tall barrel, combined with the long hose, also makes it easy reach bikes mounted in a repair stand.

"To improve durability, Nashbar gave the pump an alloy barrel, and easy-to-service O-ring style cup at the end of a large diameter plunger shaft. The cast aluminum, tripod-style base holds a large, easy-to-read gauge (bold numbers on a white background) with rotating bezel, which makes it easy to hit your preferred pressure. The V.2 also has a turned wood handle that feels great in your hand, a locking alloy pump head, and improved hose clip.

"The hose clip and pump head were my favorites of the new features. I'm left handed and often place my left foot on the base to stabilize it while pumping with only my left hand. The new clip is reversible, so users can choose which side of the pump the hose resides on when not in use, making it easy to grab when you're ready to inflate a tire. It may seem a small detail, but adapting to the user's preferred ergonomics is a nice benefit--one you'll appreciate the more your use your pump. The head still features a release valve to easily lower tire pressure if you pump too much, but it no longer automatically adjusts between presta and Schrader valves. Instead, you get a simpler--and more durable--reversible model that easily grabs even short valve stems. To switch between the two types of valves, users simply unscrew the end of the head and flip it over. Each side is engraved with the type of valve it's meant for, eliminating confusion. The new head design was simple to use and easily locked on to valves with one hand, a bonus when you're inflating a team's worth of bikes."--Mike Yozell

Great pump! Tall design works great for my 6' 2" frame and the pump design brings your tire to full pressure with just a few quick strokes. I would give it 5 stars except the pressure gauge is at the bottom instead of further up the barrel although it is not too difficult to read.

        Comments about Nashbar L'Orange V.2 Floor Pump - G.O.T.D. April 2013 - Bicycling Magazine:

I've been using this pump now for a little over a year and totally impressed as to how good it is built as well as its smooth performance. And I like the feel of the solid wood handle and smooth pump action.

I've had a few pumps over the many years of riding and this pump tops them all. The presta - schrader head is very good and works really well. Just a little note though ….. it seems that I need to back off just a little when switching to the schrader head. Not a big deal, otherwise the lever is too tight

The pressure gauge is smooth, very close to my other tire gauges, and very easy to read. And the legs make this pump very stable.

        Overall a great product!

I've used this pump quite a few times in the short time that I've owned it. I race xc mountain bikes and it is the best oump that I've owned thus far. The pump sction is effortless and with such a long pump stroke you can put in just the right amount of air with each pump.

I just receive the pump. I had to replace my Joe Blow Sport that I had for 10 years. I agree with all the positive reviews. I wish I had purchased this pump instead of the Joe Blow.

                  Comments about Nashbar L'Orange V.2 Floor Pump - G.O.T.D. April 2013 - Bicycling Magazine:

I bought the V1 in 2011, and it still works like new. It's a big pump though, and I hate lugging it up and down the stairs, so I figured I'd get a second one for the basement. I was also so happy with the V1, that I was eager to try the "improved' version.

Here are some of the advantages of the new version:
                  Larger dial gauge
                  Wooden handle
Pump head attaches and detaches more easily and loses less air
The needle on the gauge doesn't bounce when pumping or letting out air
                  Lighter weight
                  Wider, more stable base
                  Lower price
                  Longer hose
                  Smaller pump head
Supposedly the pump head can bite a shorter valve. This was an issue with the V1, but I haven't determined yet.

Here are what I preferred about the V1:
                  Nicer appearance
                  Heavier
                  Smoother action
                  More volume per stroke
Gauge at the top where it is easier to read

Overall, I think that the V1 looked felt like a better piece of workmanship and was more pleasurable to use, however the V2 technically functions better.

Having owned many different pumps in over 45 years of cycling, I can't ever recall a pump that delivers so much for so little. The clasp grips everything from threaded to smooth without any slippage or leaking. Pumping iis very efficient. Most important was how close the pump's pressure gauge compares to my tire pressure gauge. Every pump I've ever owned has been 10 to 15 pounds low and this gauge was within 2 to 3 pounds high.
