Comments about Nashbar Angliru Road Pedals:

I rode SPD (i.e., MTB style) pedals for a long time, but decided to move over to road-style pedals. I bought these because they were an affordable way to see if I'd like road pedals.

I now have about 1,200 miles on them. They did everything I hoped they'd do - more solid platform to mash on, and no squeaking, ever. They've been great - zero problems, and I see no reason why I'd spend more. If you spend 3x on Ultegra pedals, you'll save about 50 grams of weight. That's a few sips of water or a few Power Bars. Not worth it, for me.

Two cons. One, as other reviewers have noted, these aren't machined so that you can take them off with a traditional pedal wrench -- you must use a hex key. This isn't a problem for me (I use a hex key on a torque wrench to set correct torque) but just keep this in mind.

Two, even on their lowest setting, these are stiffer to get out of than mountain bike style pedals. Wasn't an issue for me, but if this is your very, very first set of clip-in pedals, you might want to check out some MTB pedals instead, until you get the hang of it. (Nashbar also has some for a very good price.)

Comments about Nashbar Angliru Road Pedals:

They are very heavy so I don't think I will put them on my bike. They were around $20 when I bought them, so returning them I will only get $8 back. So I think I will keep them as spares.

Upon opening box, was greeted with nicely packaged, respectable quality pedals and cleats, work as advertised and the cleats also work with my old Look Free Arc pedals, very satisfied.

Comments about Nashbar Angliru Road Pedals:

I purchased these to replace my worn out Delta compatible pedals. I was not ready to upgrade to the desired pedal set because of cost. These met the needed criteria; they fit delta cleats, were a good price, and from the initial impressions work as expected. I am sure there are better pedals out there but this just simply get the job done. If I were looking to get another pair (currently own two pairs on two different bikes) I would consider these again.

Pedal arrived with no cleats. I called Nashbar and they promptly shipped a set. The pedal were hard to get out of initially. After a simple adjustment they are fine. These are the best balanced pedals I have owned. They are alway in the right position to clip into. You don't have to worry about flipping them.

I just bought a new bike from Nashbar, and although I could have just moved over my old pedals from my old bike, I decided to get a new pair. These were on sale, so I get them.

They work well, easy to get and out of straight out of the box. No problems with unintened releases. These pedals do all I need of a pedal and don't break the bank. What more can I ask.

Comments about Nashbar Angliru Road Pedals:

I've ridden the predecessor pedals to the Angliru 12k miles the past three years in hills, mountains (the Alps)and the heat of Florida. They have never let me down and give better sole support than many more expensive pedals. One worthwhile improvement: buy a pair of Look Delta cleats. Their teflon surfaces make getting in and out of these pedals a snap, even when cranked down.
