Nashbar Trekking Bike
Trekking feels better when you're on a lightweight aluminum frame, an excellent suspension fork, Shimano drivetrain components, and 24 speeds of climbing, top-end, and long distance options.

The Nashbar Trekking Bike brings together all the best of the cycling world. You get nice, big 700c wheels for efficiency, control, and obstacle clearing, but you also get slick tires that are skinnier than mountain bike tires so you can still assault roads and streets without losing all your energy in the tires. Plus the Suntour suspension fork means you're ready for a little off-road, curb hopping, and gravel/dirt path riding when it suits you.

The Shimano drivetrain gives you quick, efficient, and low-maintenance shifting...so you're never left skipping gears on a steep climb; and alloy riser bars and stem keep you more upright in the saddle so it's always comfortable on your joints and back.

  • Aluminum frame is lightweight, strong, and corrosion resistant
  • Suntour 700c fork gives you 50mm of travel to absorb road bumps comfortably
  • Shimano drivetrain is smooth, responsive, and dependable
  • Upright geometry keeps you more upright for better riding comfort
  • Slick 700c tires are efficient and smooth on roads, gravel, and dirt
  • Mountain bike style bars provide excellent control and 360 degree visibility

    Comments about Nashbar Trekking Bike:

Easy assembly: Attached seat, handlebars and front wheel to the frame. Adjusted front brakes. No adjustment needed on derailleurs or rear brakes. Adjusted seat and handlebars several times until very comfortable riding. I did change the seat to one which is wider and more comfortable for my 70 year old butt. I'll give the seat away to a younger rider. Bicycle seat choice is always a personal rider-specific decision.

      Comments about Nashbar Trekking Bike:

I have been a Nashbar customer for decades. When it became apparent to me that my road biking days are mostly behind me, I looked here first. This trekking bike caught my eye; good price and a holiday discount. I am big (6'5") with long legs. I am very comfortable on this bike. Decent seat, easy, well functioning gears, and an adjustable stem are nice features. Assembly was not hard, for someone comfortable with wrenching their own bike. It seems well engineered and well built. Not bombproof, but sturdy enough. I will be interested to see how it rides for something in the 40 to 60 mile range. So far great for what I intend to use it for. I just rode it on the carriage roads at Acadia National park and it was perfect.

        Comments about Nashbar Trekking Bike:

Life long cyclist and builder turning 70. My road bike lasted 39 years with many updates, but I really need the comfort at this point. Almost wish I could have used some of the specialty tools that I accumulated over the years, but a couple common wrenches did the job. This is a really well made bike and after several miles, I'm sure it will fit my needs quite well.

          Comments about Nashbar Trekking Bike:

I spent a lot of time researching my hybrid bike purchase. Nothing came close to the Nashbar Trekking bike in terms of value. This is a solid bike with very decent components. Assembly was a breeze. The hardware required a bit of adjustment to make the bike fit and function properly, just watch a few YouTube videos on how to fit and adjust these bits. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased with the bike I got for the money I spent.

Leisure use with family. I pull a weehoo with my 2 yr old and this bike delivers the best performance for the money. I didn't want to spend big money on a bike but didn't want a big box store type. This met my requirements, delivered to my house, assembly took about an hour, and comes with quality components.

              Comments about Nashbar Trekking Bike:

I bought this bike after careful consideration. I wanted a bike that handled well on trails and can tow and be quick on the road. I am mechanically inclined so the assembly was easy. There are video tutorials for assembly of the Nashbar road bikes and it fit fairly well for this bike. I've never handled derailers and watched videos on how to adjust them, which is a great resource and knowledge to have. I was able to adjust the rear derailer without an issue. The front was too tricky so I took it to a bike shop. After three times of the chain popping off I suggested that the detailed needed adjusted on the post. Very smooth shifting now. I was told by the bike salesman it's a cool bike and a lady as I walked it out told me, "That bike is all bike". I added a bell and a wedge bag. This bike should provide a few years of entertainment with my family. Good buy, the parts alone cost more than what I paid for it. Thanks Nashbar!

                Comments about Nashbar Trekking Bike:

This is my first bike in over 30 years, so I was a little nervous about buying it online...but it had such good reviews. I have to agree, this a great bike for the price. I didn't assemble it, but had a local bike shop put it together....the owner said it was a very good entry level hybrid bike with quality components. I picked it up from the bike shop and went straight to a local bike/walking/jogging trail, took it for a 15 mile ride...very happy with my purchase, even if I was a little sore the next day...lol. The only changes I might make are the seat (but I'm going to give my butt a chance to get used to it) and the grips (I have large hands and they started hurting after a while because the grips are standard size). The one thing I would note is that I got the 23" frame, and I'm 6'2" with a 34" pants inseam....and I have to set the seat at lowest level. I am just big enough to ride this size bike...which is fine with me, since any other bike I have ever rode on I felt like a giant.

mostly around bike paths and some mountain biking. Handles very well, good balance of weight to bike size. Plenty of gears to use for all different speeds & duration of rides. It could be a little lighter but the front fork really helps with the rough roads & pot holes.

                  Comments about Nashbar Trekking Bike:

I use this bike for rides between 20-40 miles. I'll be using it this summer for a 100 Mile ride. This bike is light, comfortable, and feels incredibly agile with the 700m tires. The brakes need a little adjustment out of the box, as you would expect with any bike. The front break comes un-assembled and you have to put it on yourself. No instructions on how to actually put the bike together, just a bunch of info sheets on what the pieces of the bike do. However, if you have ever picked up a wrench in your life, you will figure out how to put this bike together. Needs very minor adjustments out of the box but comes nearly completely assembled. OUTSTANDING job by the Nashbar team with shipping. This baby was wrapped in more padding than an NFL player and took me about 30 minutes with a Allen key to put together. Actually took me longer to unwrap than to put it together. Great job shipping. Front shocks work wonderfully, as does the seat shock. The front handlebars had to be adjusted as they were installed backwards at the factory but once again, if you know what a wrench looks like, you can figure it out. The derailleurs need adjustment too but work 95% correct out of the box. Couldn't have been happier with this bike. Great little thing, this bike. Once again, great job Nashbar, if I ever need bike stuff again, you will be my people.
