    Comments about Nashbar Cyclocross Frame:

I originally built this as a commuter bike with internal hub. Since converted for gravel trails, road, and general purpose bike. Using the Vuelta Starlite 29" Mountain Wheelset, 35 tires, triple raceforce crank (48/36/26), disk brakes, shimano 10 speed cassette, Nashbar Carbon Cyclocross Fork ( heavy fork) and shifters (decore) it ended up weighing 26 lbs. More than I expected but about right for the money invested.

It seems to handle well and quickly gets into turns and is more than stable enough for the riding I do.

The build on this bike is quite easy. I recommend this providing you do not expect the performance/comfort of a high end carbon fiber cyclecross bike. I prefer it to the low end carbon frames that cost more/ are too stiff and brittle and just exist so you can tell your friend you have a carbon bike.

This is a beater, a good beater, that works well with low end components.

        Comments about Nashbar Cyclocross Frame:

My wife got me this frame for Christmas and it was my first bike build. Got it built, been riding it frequently. It's a great frame, light as a feather, and set up for pretty standard parts. I kitted it out with a mixture of FSA and SRAM components and have been having the time of my life on it.

            Comments about Nashbar Cyclocross Frame:

The geometry and measurements of the frame are very strange. I had seen that others who had purchased the frame received one with 135mm rear spacing, I was not so lucky. With a rear spacing of 130mm and disc mounts I have to wonder how I am even supposed to use this frame. Another oddity I noticed are that the rear rack eyelet holes are different sizes.... Wish I could return

I am very pleased with this frame. It is Large size and seems to fit me great at 6 ft tall. Alignment on frame is perfect as all my parts fit nice on frame. Like the gloss black paint too. Also comes with extra derailleur hanger and rear spacing is 135 which is nice. Overall great frame for a great price in my opinion.

                  Comments about Nashbar Cyclocross Frame:

I built this up as a singlespeed budget cx and commuter bike. With quality budget oriented parts, it weighs just over 19 lbs. Everything was assembled just fine, BB threads were good/straight, headset install was easy, no problems overall.

                    Comments about Nashbar Cyclocross Frame:

It looks as if Nashbar is listening to its customers. After reading some of these reviews, I had a few reservations about ordering this frame, but ultimately couldn't resist the bargain. Having assembled and road-tested my new multi-role bomber, I'm relieved and delighted.

First, let me address problems mentioned by other reviewers. The brake bosses on my 60cm frame are correctly located for 700c wheels, placing the pads well within the range of my Tektro RX-5 brakes. Dropout spacing is 130mm, which will be a challenge with a disk brake. Seat-tube bottle eyes are high enough to clear my high-mounted 105 derailleur. My fork measures 405mm from crown race to axle with 48mm offset, and the steering is just what I wanted -- easy and stable, but not clumsy. Head tube angle with this fork is a conservative 72 degrees, not the extreme 70.5 shown in the geometry table. I haven't measured the trail, but it should fall well within the favored range. Seat tube angle is 73 degrees as advertised. My Truvativ Rouleur crankset clears the chainstays without need for extra spacers.

The welds and gloss black paint bely the bargain price of this frame; it's very handsome. Chainstay proctectors are pre-installed on both sides. Tire clearance is cavernous (easily enough for 40mm slicks) and toe clearance is generous for me. My 60cm frame weighs 4.28 pounds, per my digital fish scale; that's exactly one pound less than the Reynolds steel frame it replaced, and the Nashbar is far more rigid.

The ride is comfortable, responsive, poised, and secure on a wide variety of surfaces. For a bike that stretches 107cm between axles, it climbs like a leopard, yet with 32-35mm tires it's still comfortable on crumbling blacktop. It tracks solidly on pavement or off, feeling less nimble than a racer while needing less concentration. I haven't tried the bike under load yet, but in every other way it rides and handles beautifully.

My frame was delivered with a mangled derailleur hanger, but I assembled it with the spare and Nashbar happily sent a replacement. My only niggles (and I'm really racking my brain here) are that the frame has only one eyelet in each dropout and lacks a chain hanger. If you own a bike with decent running gear and want a lively, comfortable, truly versatile machine, I doubt anything near this price can match this impressive frame. Thanks, Nashbar!

                      Comments about Nashbar Cyclocross Frame:

Very versatile frame. You can build a light touring bike, entry level CX bike, single speed (with careful selection of gears). Combined with the matching carbon fork, and this can become your daily driver. I've one built as a single speed (38x16), that I've ridden on 3 RAGBRAIs, plus thousands of miles on road, gravel, dirt.
It's a nice easy riding frame - just a bike. I'm building another one for a friend right now.

                      Comments about Nashbar Cyclocross Frame:

Used this as a frame to build up for my daughter. Took longer to build up because it doesn't say you need a rear brake hanger - which Nashbar sells. It should be included in the specifications like it does for the seat post collar. Other than that, it is a solid frame that should get years of use.
