I guess i expected to much as far as the brightness of this light, it probably okay for some people that just riding around the park. For sure that my old nashbar light is a lot brighter and it is probably even cheaper too.

Comments about Cateye EL135/LD135 Omni Light Combo:

Front light is surprisingly light but does the job. Rear light is a sturdier affair. Appreciated the mounting options supplied: two zip tie-like mounts for wider handlebars and saddle stems, and a clip for connecting to flat thin surfaces e.g. a rack plate or a bag strap. Wouldn't rely on either to illuminate a dark road but are perfect warning lights for early morning and evening road commuting. No issues with water exposure yet.

I myself have used Cateye for many many years. I trust them as well as Nashbar as I have also shopped with them for years. I bought three of these lights. Two for myself and a set for my son. I wouldn't trust anything but the best for my son and this is a great safety package everyone should have.

Comments about Cateye EL135/LD135 Omni Light Combo:

We are retired long distance riders. Now we do pre-dawn rides with a small club in Florida and need lights. These work great. The only problem for me was the poorly written instructions. We purchased new batteries, thinking the batteries included were dead. Turned out we just needed to figure out how to use the switch (not explained). The rear light has a clip so that it can be attached to an under-seat bag, but this was not explained either. Anyone with a bit more mechanical aptitude should not have these problems. These are quality products.

Comments about Cateye EL135/LD135 Omni Light Combo:

If I recall correctly, this was the model that started it all when LED bike lights were first out. Cateye and PlanetBike were leading the pack but most of them were BULKY and after a few models by each company, this was the model that became sleek and flatter and priced affordable, around $25. It's still my go-to light and it fits in well around the $25-40 price range of affordable high VIS, multiple LEDs. You can affix it to the handlebars and even ur helmet (if ur creative).

Auto drivers have approached me at gas stations, etc and raved about how bright it is and how far away they could see it (easily 1/2 mile). If ur near street signs, flash it and you'll see.

The quick release is a bonus, esp if u lock up. Just unclick and put it in ur pocket. Battery changing is quite easy and the light runs a LONG time.

If ur in traffic at dusk/evening, put it on blinking. If ur on a quiet, dark country road, put it on regular beam and it will light up from shoulder to shoulder.
