I use these shows on both my road and hybrid bikes. They breath well and do a good job draining persperation away from your foot.

Comments about Northwave Sparta Mountain Bike Shoes:

For running shoes, which are supposed to be worn one size larger than normal, I wear a size 11.5. I wear a size 10.5 in normal shoes or everyday sneakers. Thinking I wanted my biking shoes to be a bit more snug than a one size bigger running shoe I decided I wanted a 10.5 size MTB shoe. Reading one of the previous reviews about the rider determining the size chart for Northwave to be off I ordered my MTB shoes one size larger than listed on the chart. I wanted a 10.5 size so I ordered a 11.5 size or 44.5 per the Northwave section of the chart. The fit is perfect. Exactly how I was anticipating them fitting. Bottom line...order one full size larger than you actually wear. 44.5 (US 11.5) per the chart actually fits like a US 10.5. Hope this helps. As for the shoes themselves they seem like they are going to be durable and great for MTB riding.

Comments about Northwave Sparta Mountain Bike Shoes:

As usual sizes are completely inaccurate. I wear between 9.5 and 10. Ordered what should be a 10. Ended up with an 11 that finally fit Ok. Next was comfort. Tried shoe on and wore around living room for about 5 minutes and while initially it seemed comfortable after a few short minutes it became evident that it was going to be very uncomfortable.. For kicks, I removed the cheap insole and replaced it with one from my sneakers and solved the problem. The factory insole seemed too narrow for the shoe. Haven't ridden on them yet but hope fully they will work out well.

Comments about Northwave Sparta Mountain Bike Shoes:

I ride a lot of mixed terrain with new trails and hike-a-bikes so the tread on these serves me well when I need to get off the saddle to scout. Shoes are stiff and are great for long bumpy rides. So far so good and you cant beat the price.
