Mekk Poggio 3.5 Carbon Road Bike
No matter what roads await, be it elbow-to-elbow within a racing peloton, the parcours of an epic gran fondo, the familiar terrain of a local group ride or any route your heart desires, the Mekk Poggio 3.5 road bike can meet the challenge with verve and panache. The classic fit of the full-carbon Poggio 3.5 was conceived to produce the perfect all-rounder with a 3K Monocoque carbon frame and 3K carbon 1-1/8" to 1.5" tapered fork at its core. With shifting handled by the astounding Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic componentry and rock solid Ritchey Logic parts spec'd for the cockpit and seatpost you know this rig means business. The all-round theme continues through the wheelset -- Shimano RS30 aluminum hoops with 30mm rims and bladed spokes -- and there's no skimping at the contact points where Prologo is featured for both the saddle and bar tape.

Mekk is the brainchild of Mark Edwards (ME) and Ken Knight (KK), a pair of Brits with extensive experience in high-performance cycling at both the racing and production end of the spectrum, and they've delivered a tour de force bike worthy of the legacy of Milan-San Remo's iconic Poggio ascent.

  • 3K Monocoque Carbon frame with BB86 bottom bracket provides a stiff, light chassis
  • Full carbon fork with tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" steerer for responsive handling and smoothness
  • Electronic Shimano Ultegra Di2 shifters and derailleurs ensures lightning-fast, accurate shifting of the 10-speed drivetrain at the touch of a button
  • External battery with internal cable routing for clean lines
  • Shimano RS30 aluminum wheelset offers a rock-solid foundation for climbing/sprinting and has 30mm rim height plus stainless steel aero spokes for reduced drag
  • Ritchey Logic cockpit and seatpost set the standard for lightweight and reliability
  • Prologo saddle and gel tape deliver high-performance at the contact points
  • Dual-pivot brakes deliver efficient braking power and smooth modulation

Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Poggio 3.5 Carbon Road Bike:

i got my MEKK Poggio 3.5 back in August and have been riding it for the last two months. I love it. It is fast and responsive. The electronic shifting is very smooth, even when shifting on load.

The tri colour paint scheme gets a lot of compliments.
Shimano R30 wheels are OK. MEKK brakes and crank do a fine job. i did change the alloy seat post to a carbon post to complete the aesthetics.
The bike came well packed. Very little assembly; attach handlebars and seat post and install front wheel. Gears were already tuned.

This price is incredible. Compare similar level bikes. This bike is a big step up from the alloy carbon frame i have been riding for the last 3 years. I would have no trouble recommending this bike to a friend.
Not 5 stars because package does not include full Ultegra group set.

Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Poggio 3.5 Carbon Road Bike:

I got my MEKK back in August. I am very happy. The electronic shifting is very smooth, even on load and trouble free. Bike came tuned out of the box. Assembly was minor as stated in other review. It took 45" to set up and install pedals. (Not included) I did immediately throw a new seat on and replaced the seat tube. The one on the bike is alloy and I wanted full carbon set up. Brakes and crank, although not Ultegra work fine. Not planning on swapping them out. Wheels; Shimano R30s are fine and compatible with a bike at this level. AT THIS PRICE It leaves you room to come back to Nashbar to shop for up grades later.
I do get lots of compliments on colour scheme. I'm not big on the Matt black that is all the rage this year. Good bike. Great price.

Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Poggio 3.5 Carbon Road Bike:

I bought this bike during the summer. It arrived & was set-up w/
no problem. However we (avid son cyclist & engineer) could not get
the Shimano Ultegra Di2 to shift properly. It would miss rear gear
teeth & jump from one gear to another. If this problem hadn't occurred I would have kept it. It was a good value !

Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Poggio 3.5 Carbon Road Bike:

The bike is fabulously light, and the Di2 shifting is something that you'll wonder how you lived without it. Also the Gulf Oil colors are absolutely striking, if you like being noticed this is the bike for you.

The bike came packed well (a good thing since the box itself apparently took some bumps) and was well protected. Assembly consists of putting the wheels on, seat, handlebars, and Di2 battery (needed to be charged first). The wheels were true, brakes were dialed in, and the shifting was perfect out of the gate. My friend who has worked at bike shops was very impressed as to the level this bike came assembled.

MEKK keeps the price down by not having the full Ultegra component set. The crank is a rebadged SRAM, but is still very good and unless you're a very serious rider I don't think you'd know the difference.

All in all a great bike for the price, you won't regret it.
