These are well designed intricate bicycle tire by Continental Tire Company.
They are nicer than my Continental Car Tires.
In fact they looked so beautiful after I mounted it that my significant other did not want me to ride them because they would get dirty--she thought they looked so great.
Here is what you need to know:
Max PSI is 87--I ride them at 70 and they still feel rock hard.
They grip well on dry pavement but I don't ride in wet here in Los Angeles so I can't tell you.
You could ride these on smooth dirt paths, but these tires are not for Mountain riding at all.
I ride them through glass and debris and the most poorly maintained roads here in LA no problem.
Thick rubber all around and very thick in the tread area.
Tread goes all the way up to the sidewall almost to the rim!
You would have to be really unlucky to get a flat with these.
Just to be sure I use a tire liner in the rear tire only.
These tires are on the heavy side--they are wire bead and don't fold--they are shipped unfolded in a big plastic but they weigh 1 lb 10 oz each on my scale.
You won't be setting any speed records with these tires but you will have confidence not to get a flat.
There is a lot of protective material between the tread and the inside of the tire.
They install without tools or levers but it is going to take a lot of hand massaging and hand/finger strength to install. If you are not up to that bring them to your shop. If you use a tire liner like I did on the rear tire only--it is even harder and longer. Eventually they will install and pump perfectly into shape. I would allow 1 hour per tire when you are rested and sitting down. They will install, you just need to keep working them as they are stiff.
They ride on the hard side at 70 PSI, but not uncomfortable--it's all that protective material in the tire to make sure you don't get a flat.
The pair shipped me was fresh, manufactured in Dec of 2019 stamped on the side of each tire (49 week of 2019)
They are made in India (probably in a factory next to Continental's large Car Tire plants there.)
Can't comment on wear because I only have a few hundred miles on them but they still look like brand new.
I like the cool Continental labeling on the tire side.
The reflectors around the rim are very bright and a must if you ride at night.
They are also key if you carry your bike on the back of you car like I do--cars will see you.
These are great tires for someone that rides in cities, bad roads, glass, debris, commutes to work, around town and does not want to worry about getting a flat, getting stranded, having to change a tire.
They are heavy tires and slow.
They are very well made--you will not find a better manufactured tire on the market today and I have been riding for 40 years and have multiple bikes and constantly shopping for bike stuff.
So if you don't mind giving up speed, and want reliability, these are the right tires for you.
