Does what it's supposed to. Miss having the separate bike profiles.

Garmin Edge 520 Plus Cycling Computer (Black)
Received my Garmin 520 plus a few days ago. Nashbar service was great, as always. I’ve used the Garmin on two rides now. It took some study of the on-line owners manual to figure out how to use it. It needs to be connected to other apps to make it most useful (like Garmin connect and Stravos). I still haven’t figured out how to load route maps that someone else mapped. I’m hoping I can make that work. Did a 35 mile training ride yesterday and it immediately uploaded to Connect and Stravos, which was pretty cool. It was also handy to see “Grade” on my handlebar display. My wife (not a cyclist) said, for just a little more you could have gotten an Apple Watch, won’t that do the same thing...? Maybe... I’ll make another post after I use it for a while.

Garmin Edge 520 Plus Cycling Computer (Black)
I finally needed to upgrade my Edge 20 and when the 520 Plus popped up on my radar, I was liking the price point so I looked into its features. I don't race. I am not out for speed or time. I am an enthusiast who likes to get out and road cycle for fitness after having had a kidney transplant. I wanted a GPS unit that tracked my miles but the ability to see my moving time and distance travelled were of great interest too. I also wanted a more precise turn by turn navigation system.

The Edge 20 had the previous functions I needed but the turn by turn system sucks really bad unless you memorize your planned route. I wanted a unit that would not only tell me when to turn, but where by street name. I wanted a unit to display the name of the street i needed to turn on and the exact distance before the turn. I wanted a unit with a color map with details including adjacent streets. I found all that and more in the Edge 520 Plus.

Worth the money, absolutely yes. Why did I purchase from Nashbar? THE PRICE. I searched for a couple weeks on different sites and this was the lowest price and from a seller I feel confident will deliver unlike some other businesses. If you are on the fence about this computer don't think about it. Get this unit. If you are a big baller and need to have all the bells and whistles and bling, get the higher end units. If you are a new rider or like me, an enthusiast who likes to get out, this is a great starter unit to grow with. I ride very other day and as of writing this, I have a couple hundred miles logged in and this appears to have been a solid purchase so far.

Garmin Edge 520 Plus Cycling Computer (Black)
I had been debating on replacing my bicycle, I actually thought it was my forever bike. My head was turned by the newer model for one simple reason (key word, SIMPLE), I never used my lower front ring so I opted for a 1X style and I love it. I bought the bike and wanted a new computer as well so I bought a no frills model and had issues from day 1. I've had great luck with Garmin products and Nashbar had the best price with shipping included, five days later it arrived. Set up was easy and although it has more features than I'll ever use I made the right choice!! I said set up was easy, the best part was no wheel sensor needed, and there are NO placement issues either. I already have Garmin Express to update my other Garmin devices and the Connect app shows me more data than I ever thought possible.

Bottom line: Good people, Great prices, decent ship times (I opted for free) and a product that does everything I want and more!!
