Garmin Edge 520 Plus Cycling Computer MTB Bundle
For those who who are using a Garmin Edge for the first time, you are going to need the patience of Job during the initial process, or until you finally achieve a working setup you can live with. There is hardly anything intuitive about this computer, and the documentation while very pretty in illustration, will leave you in limbo more times than not.

No question that this is a high-quality instrument that is well made in every respect, including the accessories. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that there is nothing mediocre about it. But one can spend an inordinate amount of time, sometime hours, in setting up this or that function. After trials and tribulations, once you get there, it works flawlessly.

I imagine that down the road, as it were, I'm going to enjoy having this computer, when the pains of learning how to set it up are but a memory. At present, it has been a bad dream making me wish I almost every junction that I had bought something else.

Garmin Edge 520 Plus Cycling Computer MTB Bundle
I bought this to replace a Wahoo Elemnt and am pleased with the switch to Garmin. The GPS mapping is way better than the Wahoo, as is the color screen resolution. Some have complained about the complexity of Garmin vs Wahoo, but with the complexity comes greater options and settings. I came from a a Garmin Forerunner watch and the set up and menu screens are very similar so it seemed intuitive to me. I wasn't necessarily looking for the MTB bundle but the price was right, only about $20 more when it was on sale. I am going to use it for both road and MTB, so the silicone cover and remote are nice additions.

Garmin Edge 520 Plus Cycling Computer MTB Bundle
I use this exclusively for mountain biking. It works well with Trailforks and you can download the MTB trail maps from Trailforks, and save your own. It is great to load a route from Strava or Trailforks when going to unfamiliar trail systems. The Map Display is very handy when riding a trail. The Garmin Connect App on my phone allows the Garmin Edge to access trail information for the area I am riding. The MTB mount and the protective case are perfect. I purchased an Ant+ Bluetooth iGPSPORT HR60 armband Heart Rate Monitor and paired it to the Edge with no issues. My ride data now includes Heart Rate for the entire route.
