The Garmin Tacx Galaxia is an advanced roller with a patented swing system which allows it to absorb the forward and backward accelerations from a bike, to keep you from rolling off. When you start to sprint, switch pace fast, or stand on the pedals, this system absorbs the sudden movement, helping you stay upright and on the unit. The roller unit can also be retracted to 80cm for easier, out of the way storage.

Garmin Tacx Galaxia Roller
Although using rollers for the first time, the experience has been good. Setup was straightforward, and all required tools were supplied. Build quality looks to be solid, and is very smooth rolling. Its low profile makes storage a snap. The parabolic cylinders help center the wheels easily, and the accelerations and decelerations absorbed by this models design probably help with the transition to rollers easy for those new to rollers. Although I still have to get more experienced (can ride a few miles now without support), it's made bad weather less of an issue, since I can still get good workouts—and improve my technique—all indoors. Would highly recommend.
