Giro's Tyrant MIPS Helmet is designed to meet the needs of today's progressive trail riders. Equally at home on forest single track as it is at the dirt jumps, tyrants attitude ushers in the modern era of mountain biking. While the style is understated, the tyrant boasts countless under-the-hood tech breakthroughs including wind tunnel ventilation and MIPS spherical technology. MIPS spherical utilizes a pair of foam layers that work like a ball and socket to redirect impact energy in a crash. One layer is EPS, which is well suited to high-speed crashes. The other is a lower density EPP foam with rebound characteristics to address low-speed, roll-around-in-the-dirt-type spills. The added coverage of this full cut design further enhances protective capability, while taking helmet design in a new direction for riders seeking style over speed.

Helmet Measurements:

  • Wrap a measuring tape around your head
  • Make sure that tape is level from front to back
  • Note measurement and reference Size Chart
Circumference (cm)
S52 - 55.5cm
M55.5 - 59cm
L59 - 62.5cm
XL62.5 - 65cm

Note: Make sure the helmet fits with a little room when the fit system is loose, and sits low enough to protect your forehead without hindering your vision. Once you've got the right size, you can adjust the fit.

How to Adjust Fit:

  1. Adjust the fit system at the rear of the helmet for a snug, secure fit. Some helmets also include a vertical tuning feature that allows you to adjust the fore/aft tilt, for optimal positioning on your head.
  2. Adjust the straps so that they sit just below the earlobes.
  3. Adjust the buckle so that it rests against the back of the jaw/throat.
  4. Adjust the interior pads if needed.
  5. Check the fit to make sure helmet is comfortable and secure. It should not roll forward or back, or be able to slide off.

Note: All measurements are provided by the manufacturer and may vary depending on how measurements are acquired.
