Look Keo 2 Max Carbon Pedals will give you the confidence you need to go beyond your personal limits. The LOOK design team has completely remodeled the shape of the Keo 2 Max Carbon, giving it a slimmed down appearance yet a wider contact surface, increasing its style and efficiency.
OPTIMIZED CONTACT SURFACE
The pedal’s surface area has substantial symbolic importance. It is part of the brand’s identity and acts as an indelible signature on the product.
The contact surface of the KEO 2 MAX preserves the strong lines on which its history was built. Its width has been increased to 60 mm to provide a larger platform and improved foot stability during pedaling. This creates a feeling of unrivaled comfort not found in any other pedal.
LOOK also sought to optimize power transfer with the pedal's 500 mm² of usable surface (+25% increase). The shape of the stainless-steel plate has been revised to match that of the cleat and to keep, regardless of the position of your foot (depending upon the angular float you use), the same amount of contact for consistent performance.
Increasing the pedal’s usable contact surface, without any additional weight gain, improves the Power to Weight ratio, making the pedal even better and allowing you to perform at your best.
IMPROVED SPINDLE PROFILE
The spindle profile of the KEO 2 MAX has also been optimized. The Chromoly Plus steel axle is oversized and surrounded by an inner ball bearing and a needle roller bearing, located under the contact surface, which combined allows the pedal to better handle the load and distribute it optimally.
A new component has been added between these two bearings. A serrated washer, previously used to hold the needle roller bearing in place, has been replaced with a conical spacer. This technical solution reduces friction, increases fluidity, and by consequence, decreases the geometrical tolerances of the pedal body and play.
The sole purpose of the sum of these improvements has been to guarantee you irreproachable reliability.
Note: A pair of grey 4.5° float Keo Cleats are included, cleats with more or less float may be purchased separately.

Purchased a set to replace my Speedplay X pedals that you can't get cleats for thanks to the buyout by Wahoo. Good price and they look great. I thought I found my perfect replacement until 20 miles into my first ride when the cleat squeak began on the left pedal. After checking around, I found out this is a big issue with Look pedals. No kidding it is annoying!!! I have tried the various remedies suggested and different float cleats but they only seem to change the tone of the squeak. Guess I won't be replacing the Speedplays on my other bicycles with Looks.

The pedals are great but the walking plastic front pad on one cleat came off the first time I walked 50 yards in them. Fortunately I have cleat covers. The grey cleats still work fine in the pedals which are very light and well made. I will buy replacement cleats without the walking pads in the future. Ron Lucas

Look Keo 2 Max Carbon Pedals (Black)
Having had Speedplay pedals for 23 years, I decided to give these Look pedals a try. The Look pedals are a bit lighter than old pedals but not necessarily as easy to click into. They have taken a bit of time to get used to swinging the pedal forward to engage. The feel of these Look pedals seem a bit more stable because of triangular design and amount of surface contact. I've only ridden about 70 miles on them but really like them so far. The price was right and cleats have a plastic surface for walking without fear of slipping and falling( something that could not be said about old X1 Speedplay's.) Cleats also are easily replaced and readily available....another deciding factor for sale. I give them a thumbs up!

These pedals are great. I'm a track rider and I was looking for a low profile pedal for use on my track bike at the velodrome. Thicker pedals will scrape at slower speeds and this pedal is perfect!
