If you're a cyclist that demands the best technology at the best price, then look no further than the Performance Ultra Shorts. Designed in Chapel Hill, NC and made in the United States, the Ultra Shorts ensure you'll be riding at your best.

These shorts feature the new Ultra TMF Italian chamois with Skyving technology for seamless, pressure-free comfort, and its multi-density foam with Air Mesh layer provides shock absorption, breathability, and moisture-wicking. The shorts' high compression fabric has an embossed texture and uses push/pull technology to manage moisture while the six panel construction with abrasion-resistant side panels maintain a streamlined fit.

Coldblack technology reduces skin temperature under direct sunlight for the ultimate in cooling comfort on hot days and the an UPF 30+ rating means there's protection against the sun's harmful rays. Wide, sublimated leg bands are non-restrictive and the silicone interior helps to keep the shorts perfectly placed. Built with the same features found in high-end cycling shorts, the Performance Ultra Shorts give you all the benefits the pros are accustomed to.

Features:

  • Nylon/spandex fabric blend with embossed texture improves aerodynamics, manages moisture, and provides high compression at a lighter weight
  • Abrasion-resistant side panels are made with a special knit that pulls perspiration from the surface of the skin and pushes it off the face of the material
  • Ultra TMF Italian chamois is anatomically shaped for long distance comfort, features multi-density foams to absorb vibrations, utilizes seamless Skyving technology to eliminate steps between foam layers, plus has a carbon brushed anti-bacterial top sheet
  • Italian made leg opening includes a wide sublimated leg band with silicone print to prevent them from riding up the leg
  • 6-panel design with high compression reduces muscle fatigue and speeds up muscle recovery
  • UPF 30+ sun protection
  • Flatlock seams eliminate chafing
  • Reflective accents enhance visibility in low-light conditions

Performance Ultra Shorts (Black/Charcoal) (3XL)
Like in past years, I bought these shorts for cycle class over the winter months. However, compared to those I bought in the past, and are now worn out, I am neutral about these new shorts simply because they lack a drawstring. The top elastic flops over and slides down my torso.

Otherwise, the chamois is comfortable, the panels fit well and there is adequate quad coverage with the leg length.

FYI...I always wear bibs on the road or MTB biking.

Performance Ultra Shorts (Black/Charcoal) (M)
The Performance Elite had been my go-to shorts for about ten years. Since they seem to have been discontinued, I decided to pick up the Ultra. I was really disappointed in the cut of these shorts, and the chamois. The legs were shorter than with the last generation Elite, and the chamois pinches a lot where you don't want it to. On 60-plus mile rides, I was not comfortable with these shorts, and shorter rides were not much better. I do not recommend these Ultra shorts.

Fit is impressive, looks are attractive. The chamois is a bit light on padding for my liking, but it's acceptable enough for me to consider buying another pair, so I guess that's not a real issue. Why are shorts so freaky expensive?

These are the worst riding shorts I have ever bought. The design in terrible. The pad is too wide in certain areas, and this pushes the stitching out too far into the leg. The stitching then rubs on the inside of your leg. Plus they are so tight that it compress not only your quads, which is fine, but all your other parts in that area as well. 20 miles into a 70 mile ride I was dying. Not worth the price if they were free and of course they are non-returnable. What a waste of money.

Performance Ultra Shorts (Black/Charcoal) (L)
I didn't realize that I was wearing second rate gear until I got these and put them on. They instantly became my favorite riding shorts and I will be buying a couple more pair.

Fits great. Padding in the right places and stays there. Waist stays up and legs stay down. All and all a comfortable short.

Not the same Perrtformace Ultra Shorts I've purchased in the past. Fit too tight compared to prior years.

Performance Ultra Shorts (Black/Charcoal) (L)
Nice padding, on the thicker side, firm.
I don't agree with reviews stating they are short. They fall above the knee, as normal.
Definitely feel the compression effect on the thighs. These are not loose!
I like em'

Very great value. True to size. Used for a few rides already, Chamios is everything the description says it is.
